UNICAL LAW FACULTY EMERGE CHAMPIONS AGAIN AT NATIONAL COMPETITION

The Faculty of Law in the University of Calabar has emerged overall winners in the finals of the Dr A.C.B. Agbazuere National Human Rights Moot and Mock Trial Competition NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

The Law faculty which was represented by eight participants at the event held at the Law Moot Court of Abia State University excelled in a field which attracted competitive participants from 30 faculties of Law of universities across the nation.

The Faculty performed brilliantly in the designated three stages of the competition namely judgement writing, where they had the second-best written judgement, Memorial Cum Brief Writing where they emerged top and the final stage of the competition where they triumphed over Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

Aside being champions at the competition, the institution’s Faculty of Law Lead Counsel, Etaba Agbor was declared by the Chancellor cum Learned Judge who presided over the final event as the Best Advocate of the Tournament.

Other members of the team who also won awards and made the university proud include: Obinna Udochukwu Godvictory, Chioma Lily Ndu, Doreen Osuji, Asanam George Obong, Michael Arinze Matthew, Akpabio Solomon Oshoname and Lawrence Emeka.

It would be recalled that in 2019 the same Faculty of law emerged top at the World Best Oralist Competition held in the United States of America.
