During the week, members of the Southern Governors’ Wives Forum paid a courtesy call on the initiator of the Forum and First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. (Mrs) Aisha Buhari at the villa. Speaking at the occasion, the First Lady expressed joy at seeing the Governors’ Wives and congratulated them for all they have been doing to minimize different aspects of social vices confronting the country. She charged the Governors’ wives to continue to do their best in seeking the support of their governor-husbands as they strive to consolidate on their efforts in leaving lasting legacies.
In similar development, the Southern Governors’ Wives Forum who later met at Edo House in Abuja elected the First Lady of the State of Osun, Her Excellency, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, as their new Chairperson. Oyetola takes over from the First Lady of Edo, Her Excellency, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki. 
While delivering her acceptance speech, Mrs. Oyetola praised the leadership prowess of her predecessor, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki whom she described as a pragmatic leader who fostered unity among the sisters beyond boundaries during her tenure.
She thanked her colleagues for unanimously electing her and pledged to build on the harmony and achievements of her predecessors while committing to the achievement of the programs and projects listed for execution across the country by the SGWF.
