The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has approved the appointment of a new Acting Bursar for the institution. He is Mr Joseph Odum who takes over from Mrs Atim Oteng Mensah.
Prior to his new appointment, Mr Joseph Odum was the Director of Budget, Planning and Control in the University of Calabar.
A release issued by the Registrar of the University of Calabar, Mr Gabriel Egbe, disclosed that the appointment which takes effect from June 22, 2021 is for a period of three months.
The release further stated that as Acting Bursar, he will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the University’s finances in line with Section 2 (2) 7: 2 of the first schedule of the Act establishing the University.
The Former Acting Bursar is requested to handover to the newly appointed Bursar in the light of the current development and relevant sections of the University are to accord the newly appointed Bursar necessary courtesies associated with the office.
