Nigerian youths have posed an ultimatum to the leading opposition political party in Cross River, the People’s Democratic Party PDP in respect of the party taking a stand on rotation of political power across the three senatorial districts of the state in respect of 2023 general elections NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN has tasked the leadership of the PDP to between Monday (this December 2021) and January 2022 either declare its official stand on which senatorial district of the state should produce the occupant of the high office of Governor of Cross River or they will occupy the party’s Secretariat if the former fails.

This stance was made on Monday at the Youth House in Calabar the state capital metropolis where the Cross River NYCN Chair, Comr. Dan Obo Jnr., spoke to the press.

Obo Jnr charged the PDP to convene its enlarged caucus as it did in 2015 in a similar circumstances.

According to Obo Jnr ‘Between now (20th December 2021) and January (2022), we expect that the same way PDP called a meeting in 2015, to say look it is the turn of the north, they should call that same meeting.

‘They call it a caucus meeting –an enlarged caucus meeting. If they don’t call it between now and that period, we might have no choice than to occupy their office.

‘One of the things that get us excited is that when people continue to undermine what you say or what you think you could do, and then you don’t do it, then you’re the one loosing power.’

Obo Jnr added that ‘a Governor that is not from the south will not emerge in this generation as at today, the reason is because we have to sustain whatever peace that they have enjoyed… It is now that their turn plus generation has passed and some of them are children of history, they know the dangers of after now, and so everybody must die because you must govern people.’

The NYCN State Chair noted that the group is keen about the PDP as an institution and not a particular individual opting for her flag. This is because, there are no independent candidates in Nigeria.
