The Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten-led Yakurr Local Government Area has held its ‘Mid-term Local Government Administration Review, Accountability and Political (APC) Party Reconciliation/Consolidation’ 2022 New Year Dinner and APC Critical Stakeholders meeting in Calabar the Cross River capital metropolis NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
This meeting which held against the backdrop of criticisms was not attended by the Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency Chief Dr. Clement Ebri a former governor of Cross River state.
Reportedly, Ebri’s absence is not unconnected to his reservation on why such a meeting should hold in Calabar faraway from Ugep the local government area headquarters.
Yakurr indigenes and resident have frowned at such a meeting. One Bassey Bassey Okon said ‘Total disconnect. Is he the Chair of Municipality ? These people eh !’ Ralph Ofem disclosed that ‘Chairman the fear questions from Yakurr Youths…’ Idaka Kelvin observed thus ‘Come let’s Dialogue but you carry venue go Cameroon. See what imposition can cause’. Patrick Ibiang said ‘brotherly. I wonder why he was wrongly adviced in the choice of calabar for REVIEW. people should be allowed to attend to either criticise him or appraise him. The should come back to the LG council hall and avoid spending all that funds in alzari (sic)….’ Innocent Eno said ‘I’m still imagining the rational for choice of calabar. Why not host it in any of the yakurr community, don’t be surprised if is looking for second term.’ For Kingsley Itam it is ‘I guess they want to relocate Yakurr Council head quarters to Calabar.’
