The Coalition of All Progressives Congress, APC Support Groups in Nigeria, Cross River chapter with support groups totalling 300 have declared total support to the Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq-led EXCO of the All Progressives Congress APC and Gov Ben Ayade’s leadership of the party in South/South geopolitical zone of the Country.
The incident which happened on Wednesday during a meeting in Calabar the state capital with the leaders of the various support groups in the state was well attended by many heads of APC support groups and saw leaders pouring encomiums on the Alphonsus Eba Esq-led EXCO for their tenacity, willingness, membership drives/evangelism and reconciliation of few aggrieved members of the party.
In his address, the state chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Groups in Nigeria Cross River Chapter, Elder Comrade Iso Bassey Edim thanked members for turning up at the meeting despite the short notice. He urged the state leadership of the Party not to be distracted by the actions of some greedy elements who have allowed themselves to sponsored by external forces and the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP. He said that no genuine member of the Party would move straight to the Law Court without first of all utilizing the party’s internal conflict resolution mechanisms.
He said that he is a foundation member of the Party from the days of the defunct AD, ACD, AC, ACN and now APC. He was also aggrieved on the outcome of the State Congress, but because he is a party man, he had to let go and allow for peace in the party, so as to allow the party leadership concentrate more on the things that would bring unity, oneness, progress and growth to the party in the state. He also said that the state governor has shown sincerity and readiness to carry everybody along, hence the need for cohesion amongst members.
Speaking in that same vein, Mr Williams Edet, Engineer Sylvester Ogar, Prince Mathew Eja, Mr Philomena Ayang, Mrs Patricia Edem, Dr. Mrs Grace Undie and Hajia Amina Muhammed added their voices to support the declaration of Support to the Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq-led EXCO and the State Governor.
The Coalition of APC Support Groups in Cross River State also appealed to the state leadership of the Party and the governor to carry the coalition along, as they have decided to totally support the party’s leadership and governor to succeed in anything that would move the Party forward.
The Leadership of coalition also dissolved the local hovernment areas coordinators of the coalition. The coalition congratulated Alphonsus Eba Esq on his inauguration as the State Chairman of the Party in Cross River State. They Promised to attend the Inauguration of the State EXCO of APC slated for Monday the 14th of February 2022 in their full Capacity.
Highlights of the meeting was individual Groups endorsement of the party’s and governor’s leadership, new groups registration and entertainment of all the leaders who were present at the meeting.
