I Can’t Play Politics without Dansuki – Sen. Liyel Imoke

Saturday, the 19th of February, 2022 history was made as Rt. Hon. (Ntufam) Daniel Asuquo, also known as Dansuki commissioned his campaign office in splendour as he makes bold his gubernatorial aspiration come 2023.

The event which was well attended by dignitaries from the People’s Democratic Party witnessed arrays of other gubernatorial aspirants of the party, party chieftains, stakeholders, etc.

Speaking shortly after the commissioning of the campaign secretariat by the former Governor, Sen. Liyel Imoke, he described the campaign secretariat as the state of the art edifice for its ebullient and glamour. He commended Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo for his doggedness and delivery in all his political journey.

“I am not surprised by what I am seeing today. You have always shown leadership and taste. As a grassrooter, you made a mark and, this has helped you provide quality leadership. I love the way you are going about with your aspiration, issue-based and very engaging. For me in Cross River, I can’t play politics without Dansuki”.

“With what is happening today in the PDP, it has demonstrated that we are one family. You all can see other gubernatorial candidates here at this commissioning. It’s important to note that no family is key and very important as our growth tomorrow is demonstrated by our unity. Indeed, we are the party to beat”.

Earlier, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo in his opening speech described Sen. Liyel Imoke as his political godfather. He thanked the former Governor for the honour of commissioning the campaign office. “I learned so much under your leadership and these great lessons and goodwill are the springboard of my political dexterity and sagacity”.

Dansuki thanked all the leaders of the party and other gubernatorial aspirants for demonstrating sportsmanship in joining with him to commission his campaign secretariat which will also be a melting point for reconciliation, strategic planning, and other engagements. In attendance include Sen. Gershom Bassey, senator representing the southern senatorial district and caucus chief of the members of representatives from Cross River State, Sen. Sandy Onor of the central senatorial district, Mr. Efiok Cobham, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo.

Others who also graced the occasion were: Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, senator and leader of the northern senatorial district, Prof. Stella Atoe, National Women Leader PDP, Hon. Bassey Ewa, Ntufam Ekpo Okon, one time State Party Chairman of the PDP in Cross River State, under whose leadership, Dansuki embarked on his first political journey as a house member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency.

The event also witnessed a huge turnout of supporters, friends, support groups, religious leaders, party chieftains, women, and youth across party lines.
