2023: PDP women solidarise with Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe, pledge support for her political campaign

The Lady Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe political campaign has received immense support with the visit of women political leaders of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

On Monday, PDP ward and chapter women leaders across the Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Calabar South Federal Constituency paid a visit of solidarity to Lady Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe and her New Dawn campaign organisation in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis.

The visit by these women leaders is against the backdrop of the Friday setback for the New Dawn political campaign in Akpabuyo where machetes wielding hoodlums numbering over 20 young men were seen to attack the campaign activities in Ikot Ekpri Ene and carting away millions of Naira, personal effects while leaving some of those present injured.

While addressing the visiting women political leaders who came to shore up her political ambition, Lady Ambrose-Amahwe said that she wants to officially use the opportunity to inform them that she is gunning to represent constituents of Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Calabar South Federal Constituency at the anticipated 10th national assembly.

She said that, ‘I called us to tell us that your sister, your daughter, a woman has come out to run an election. It should be something that concern all of us… Let me ask us: do we want a representative or we want someone who keeps giving us N20,000 every week to cook soup? Can’t you give someone N20,000 to cook soup? Can’t you cook and invite people to come and eat. So, at the end of the day, anyhow you want to look at it, it is cheating, it is cheating!

‘The long and short is that I am begging my fellow women and sisters, I am actually asking that please (Everyone here is a delegate) that you people should support me in spirit and truth, do not play deceit. We are not underdogs, we can get the job done’.

On her part, the Chairperson of PDP Cross River Ward and Chapter Women Leaders, Queensley Offiong-Etim Bassey, tasked the women leaders to solidarise with Lady Emana Duke-Amawhe. According to chairperson Bassey, it is said that charity begins at home. Her words, ‘Women, please let’s solidarise with Emana… Charity begins at home’.

Other women leaders from Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South spoke after Bassey in solidarity.
