Otu congratulates Ayade over court victory as 41 support groups urge ‘Sweet Prince’ to declare for governor

A former federal lawmaker of the federal republic of Nigeria who represented Cross River South at the 8th National Assembly has congratulated the executive governor of Cross River state over the latter’s recent victory at the court against the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Senator Bassey ‘Sweet Prince’ Otu has expressed happiness over Gov Ben Ayade’s Thursday triumph at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday where Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in his judgment kicked out the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s suit requesting the removal of Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River.

The presiding Justice Taiwo disclosed that he was bound by the decision of a higher court which had delivered a judgment on April 1 in a case in Enugu.

Otu noted that ‘the mandate of His Excellency the governor of Cross River state, Prof. Ben Ayade, devolved by the people cannot be eroded away by the shenanigans of the PDP’.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 41 political support groups have urged Sen. Otu to declare for the office of Governor under the auspices of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. This was done during a world press conference which held on Thursday in Calabar the Cross River capital.

In the said briefing, Boniface Okache Special Adviser to the Governor on urban renewal chaired the occassion and read the statement, Hon. Friday Ernest Okpa spoke for Central, comrade Benard okorie spoke for north Dr Esu Esu spoke for South and Mr boniface special adviser to Governor, the support group extolled the virtue of Prince Bassey Edet Otu and their unalloyed loyalty calling on him to declare and contest the 2023 Governorship of the state.

The group observed that ‘Despite the challenges facing Cross River State , we the different groups of Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, having noticed the prolong period of silence and quietude hereby step forward to call on sweet Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu to make an assertive declaration to aspire and contest for the position of Governor in the forthcoming election in 2023’.

On his part, Hon. Friday Ernest Okpa during an interactive session spoke for Central Senatorial District saying Prince Otu is a household name who as a leader cut across the state, while comrade Benard Okorie spoke for the north as Dr Esu Esu spoke for the South and Mr boniface special adviser to Governor on urban renewal Okache chaired the occassion and read the statement.
