On Sunday, May 22, 2022 history was once again made as the good people of Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency gave me their mandate to represent them at Lower Legislative Chamber of the National Assembly.
Of course, the exercise was not only free and fair, but a reflection of the wishes of my constituents who believe in me and in my capacity to lead them in this nick of time.
In the light of the above, I wish to express my profound gratitude and appreciation to all the stakeholders, my ardent supporters and the delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency for the support in voting for me as the candidate of the party ahead of 2023 genenral election.
But I would not fail to especially thank Mr Esuabana Asuquo Esuabana, who ran the race with me as he demonstrated sportsmanship throughout the campaign period. I owe him a lot of gratitude and extend my hands of fellowship to him so that together we can join hands to lead our Great Party to victory in our federal constituency.
I also congratulate Ntufam Ekpo Okon for emerging as the candidate for the Southern Senatorial District.
May I also use this opportunity to congratulate Distinguished Senator Sandy Ojang Onor for emerging as the party standard bearer after a well-fought governorahip primary election.
To our great party leadership, I thank you immensely for giving all the aspirants a level-playing ground to compete at all levels. Indeed, the processes adopted by the party has not only deepeened internal democracy, but has thrown up candidates that stand the taste of time.
However, we shall finally click our glasses, humb our chests and say “we have done it” if the party in the state clinches victory at the 2023 poll.
Therefore, I call on all the candidates, party members, our supporters and the leadership to close ranks and work as a virile and an indivisible family as we enter the last stage of electioneering.
