A presidential hopeful of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has stated the issues that will preoccupy his administration if given the role to be President of Nigeria.

Chief God’swill Obot Akpabio the immediate former Minister for Niger Delta Affairs has said that he will address the characteristic disunity, poor economy and insecurity plaguing the country.

Akpabio disclosed this in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis on Saturday when he met with the state delegates of the APC in Cross River.

According to him, ‘I am a Nigerian. I have always thought Nigerian. And I assure you that given the opportunity, I will serve this country with love, unite the country, and tackle the infrastructural deficit, the economic situation, the natural integration problem and also tackle the problem of insecurity.’

While making particular reference to the challenge of insecurity across the country, Akpabio explained that ensuring that there is justice against criminal elements of insecurity will resolve the teething problems. His words, ‘By the time I become president in 2023, I intend to do more to ensure that we all sleep well.

‘And for those children there are so many reasons: some could be lack of employment opportunities, some could be due to drug addiction, some could be due to peer group pressures, and some could be due to outright criminality.

‘But, whatever the case, we shall do our best, and I have always promised: that either we take justice to them, or we bring those who are criminals to justice. Justice shall be done.’ he said.

He also disclosed that his anticipated presidency will address every agitation like the agitations and agitators in the Niger Delta were resolved.

Akpabio while addressing the press immediately after his speech to the delegates noted that his presidential campaign has received wonderful reception. He said that ‘Nigeria is for god’s will’.
