2023: Pro-Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe group protest in Calabar

Following Wednesday’s protest against the nomination of Lady Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe as the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Cross River Deputy Governorship candidate for the forthcoming general elections in 2023, a counter protest was witnessed in Calabar the state capital NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

A pro-Emana Ambrose-Amahwe street protest whose central message revolved around the subject of support for the nomination of Lady Emana Ambrose-Amahwe as the running mate to PDP Cross River’s guber candidate, Prof. Sandy Ojang Onor.

The protesting group which was made largely of women, ladies, girls and even some men on Thursday were seen to have protested to the state secretariat of the PDP in the state capital. metropolis, Calabar.

These protesters waved sundry placards with the following inscriptions: ‘Emana Duke is a youthful representative’, ‘Emana is a symbol of humility and accomodation’, ‘Cross River State Forum… Emana our hope’, ‘Emana all the way’, ‘Cross River State Women… Emana na you we know’, ‘Southern Senatorial District supports Sandy/Emana 100%’, etc.

Dr Itam Abang a founding member of the PDP in the state and member of the state House of Assembly, said thus ‘When the people speak that I’d what will happen: we have said that because Emana cuts across the divide (youth and women) we will take Emana. Na party bring Emana so dat decision we go accept am.’

Reacting to the concerns of the crowd to protesters the state chair of the PDP, Vena Ikem, assured that ‘we will do what is right, and we will be firm on the positions taken by the party… To a large extent we will do what will express the opinion of the supporters of this Party’.
