NUJ conducts state council elections in C’River as The Nation correspondent emerges chair

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ in Cross River has conducted elections into its state executive council NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

The Friday’s elections saw the emergence of Nsa Gill of the Nation Newspapers with 76 votes as chairman of council, beating Oka Ibor of The Chronicles Newspapers with 50 votes.

Again, Florence Kanu emerged as Vice Chairman while Kingsley Agim of Ministry of Information is voted Assistant Secretary General, and Achiane Adams of Ministry of Tourism was elected Treasurer.

Solomon Azu with 64 votes floored Judex Okoro of the Sun Newspapers with 59 votes. Archibong Bassey of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) with 85 votes beating Vero Ogar of 41 votes.

The newly elected EXCO was sworn in immediately.
