Family and friends at the Bricks House in Calabar during the press conference

In a press briefing in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis last week at the Bricks House, a member and representative of the deceased family Mr Chubby Effiom Livingstone who explained that Burns was not sick to the best of the knowledge of the family, observed that, ‘the passing on of Burns on the 11th of November 2022 was a big shock to the whole of the family. Burns came in from Calabar to Lagos where I reside and he came in to handle an exhibition in few days.

‘That fateful day… That 11th of November, he had gone out to buy few things. But, in the evening of that day he complained of some pains at the back of his body, so one of his friends that was there with him adviced him to go to the pharmacy at Victoria Island very close to the house and buy a pain reliever so that the following day they can find out what really happened to him.

Continuing, Livingstone said further, ‘They were chatting on WhatsApp that night, at about 2AM and 3AM, if you look at his phone, he stopped chatting at 2AM, that means, it is between that 2AM and 3 that he passed on. So the following morning they waited for Burns to bath, dress up so that they can go to the hospital to find out what is really happening to him. They waited in vain, they didn’t see Burns coming out. They phoned… phone was ringing, he didn’t pick up. Then his friend walked down to the room and knocked, he did not answer. He entered the room and saw Burns lying down, he called him, Burns did not answer, he carried his hand, nothing happened. He raised an alarm.

‘It’s in an estate, a well-known estate in Lagos called 1,004 estate. The security at the estate was informed, a medical doctor also was informed. Police was informed. They all came around. And the doctor certified that he’s not alive…
