Usani Uguru Usani , a former minister of Niger Delta Affairs has allegedly escaped a kidnap attempt along Betem, Biase LGA NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
In the botched kidnap attempt, four persons were kidnapped, three have been released, one is still in captivity.
According to David Agabi a media aide to the PRP Cross River gubernatorial candidate, ‘The driver was shot, and the vehicle was looted and riddled with bullets. Two men in the other vehicle were shot dead instantly.’
Meanwhile, kidnappers kill two people along Biase highway in Cross River, abducts many into the forest. Recall that Associate Prof. Gertrude Njar the Commissioner for Women Affairs on the 1st day of February, 2023, was kidnapped.
The rate of high profile kidnappings has taken a new dimension in Calabar especially along the Odukpani-Akamkpa-Ugep High Way.
Hon. Egbe Eworo Essiet was kidnapped from the convoy of Pastor Usani, while one person was shot on the leg.
