A former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Asset Recovery, Okoi Obono-Obla, has asked the Cross River State Government, CRSG to order fresh probe into the alleged politically motivated killings of Rev. Father Offiong, H.E John Oyom Okpa, Barrister Eyo Okon Eyo, etc NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

Obono-Obla charged the state government recently via his social media account where she said, ‘The Government of Cross River State of Nigeria must as a matter of urgency order a fresh investigation of all unresolved politically motivated murders that took place in the State between 1999-2007 including Rev. Father Offiong, H.E John Oyom Okpa, Barrister Eyo Okon Eyo, etc during the heydays when one of the oligarchs had sway.

‘Also to be investigated include the burning down of the hotel belonging to His Excellency, Ambassador Akpang Obi Odu.’

While justifying his call, Obla argued that in law, time does not diminish the prosecution against criminality.

‘It is a fundamental principle of criminal law that in Nigeria times don’t operate as a bar against criminal prosecution!’, Obla concluded.

Donald Duke was governor of Cross River state between 1999 and 2007.
