EFCC’s Uyo Zonal Command Nabs 46 Suspected Internet Fraudsters

Calabar and UyoThe Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended a total of forty-six individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. The arrests took place at various locations within Calabar, Cross River state and Uyo in Akwa Ibom state, in an operation conducted on October 13, 2023. The suspects were taken into custody following an intelligence-based operation NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

In Calabar, twenty-two individuals were apprehended, identified as David Boniface Akani, Johnson Umuke, James Michael, Akeke Favour, Enange Benard, Godson Ubi, Eddie Godson, Eyo Jesse Bassey, Joachim Omuyeh, Dickson Abang, including Ikora Sunny, Emmanuel Godwin, Dannis Lipeunim, Agwazia Sunny Henry, Abang Emmanuel, Godspower Eyan, Elena Samuel, Adie Godson, Chisom Stanley, Nonso Solomon, Eyam Daniel Okpa and Aka Richard.. The suspects were found in possession of a range of sophisticated mobile phones, six exotic cars, and laptops.

In Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the EFCC arrested an additional twenty-four suspects, including Fonime John Etukudo, Nsisong Udoh, Saviour Daniel, Sampson Sunday, Joshua James Michael, Paul Edet Etiemana, Archibong Okomobong Bassey, Inemesit Akin Bassey, Edidiong Aniete Tom, as well as Archibong Alfred Archibong, Itauma Uforotobong Richard, Bassey David Nicholas, Chidozie Ikechukwu, Japhet Linus Akwaowo,Victor Evans, Fortune Udia, Benjamin Amos, Prince Augustine, David Daniel, Augustine Obinna, Udeme Unanaowo Unanaowo and Obinnaya Jide.

The suspects are presently under investigation, and upon the conclusion of the inquiries, they will be charged to court to answer for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
