Calabar – Mr. Akin Fakorede, the Executive Chairman of Southern British High School, proudly showcased the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality education in Cross River State during a recent tour attended by journalists, bloggers, social influencers, and former education administrators NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
Fakorede emphasized that the fully boarded school, approved by the state government, follows a British-Nigerian academic curriculum and operates as a co-educational secondary school, welcoming both male and female students. The school’s vision is rooted in enhancing the quality of education in Cross River State and making internationally recognized education more accessible to the local community.
“For years, parents had to seek institutions outside the state for modern, technologically-savvy education. Southern British High School aims to change that by offering a top-notch educational experience right here in Cross River,” Fakorede explained.
The school project, initiated in 2015 and completed in 2022, commenced its academic activities last year with students from Junior Secondary School 1. Fakorede emphasized the school’s commitment to providing everything needed for modern education in the new millennium, ensuring that parents no longer have to travel long distances to find the education they seek for their children.
Addressing the employment aspect, Fakorede noted that the school serves as a key investment for job creation within Cross River State, aiming to change the mindset that there are limited job opportunities in Calabar for graduates.
During the tour, the facilities, including the male and female hostels, cafeteria, science laboratory, school farm, and sporting facilities, were thoroughly assessed, showcasing the school’s dedication to providing a holistic and conducive learning environment.
