The APC Legacy Group, a coalition representing the defunct parties that laid the foundation for the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and a faction of APGA & DPP, extends heartfelt congratulations to Chief Felix Idem on his endorsement as the ‘Political Leader in Calabar Municipality’.

Comprised of founding members who have been with the party since its inception, the APC Legacy Group played a pivotal role in the establishment and sustenance of the APC. They have weathered challenges and protected the party’s integrity, setting the stage for others to join.

The APC Legacy Group, recognizing the current challenges and anti-Party activities, considers the unanimous endorsement of Idem by Critical Stakeholders and Leaders of APC in Calabar Municipality a timely and essential move.

Speaking to the press in Calabar after a general meeting, the Coordinator of the Group, Hon Ekpenyong Inang, urged Chief Idem to leverage his exceptional leadership prowess to unite the party. He expressed gratitude to the Critical Stakeholders and Leaders of APC in Calabar Municipality for standing against political opportunists and ensuring the party’s integrity is maintained.

Inang issued a warning to individuals using the Group’s name to cause confusion, emphasizing that such actions will not be tolerated. He questioned the authenticity of the fake names circulating in non-existent news, calling for clarity.

The Group raised concerns about the State Chairman of APC Cross River State’s inaction on the Vote of No Confidence passed on Emmanuel Mbora and Oku Ita, former Chapter Chairman and Chapter Publicity Secretary, respectively. Twenty out of twenty-seven chapter executives voted in favor of the motion, as stipulated in the APC Constitution Article 21.

In his contribution, Ekpenyong Edide expressed disappointment at the internal conflicts within the party, emphasizing the urgency for the state leadership and the Governor to address and resolve the issues promptly.
