Tony Ani Emerges Victorious in Ebonyi South Senatorial By-Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched victory in the Ebonyi South Senatorial by-election held on Saturday, as announced by the Returning Officer, Eze Uchechukwu. The total votes cast were reported to be 56,363, with 695 votes rejected.

APC’s Anthony Ani emerged as the winner, securing a substantial lead with 46,270 votes. His closest rival, Ifeanyi Eleje of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), trailed with 3,513 votes.

Other candidates in the election included Silas Onu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with 2,783 votes and Linus Okorie of the Labour Party (LP) who scored 2,710 votes.

The Returning Officer, Eze Uchechukwu, officially declared Mr. Anthony Ani the winner, emphasizing that he had been certified by the law and is returned elected.
