NDDC Fulfills Promise to NIS Cross River State Command

Calabar – The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has successfully fulfilled its promise to the Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) by installing fifteen solar lights at the Command premises, the flag house, and the barracks NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

This development follows an earlier report from 26th March 2024, detailing the visit of the Cross River State NDDC Commissioner, Hon. Orok Duke, to the NIS Command. During this visit, Chief Duke pledged to enhance the lighting infrastructure within the Command’s facilities to improve security and visibility.

The installation of the solar lights commenced on Tuesday, 21st May 2024, and was completed on Wednesday, 22nd May 2024. The initiative has already begun to show positive results, with the illuminated areas now providing enhanced safety and security for officers and residents.

ASI2 DI Omelagah, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (CPRO), confirmed the successful completion of the project and shared photos taken at night, showcasing the well-lit premises.

The NIS Cross River State Command expressed its gratitude to the NDDC for this vital contribution, which aligns with ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and security within the Command. The installation of solar lights is expected to significantly reduce the risk of security breaches and ensure a safer environment for both personnel and visitors.
