Massive Turnout for 4th Solemn Assembly in Calabar

The fourth edition of the Solemn Assembly, a gospel program initiated by the Wife of the Governor, Rev. (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, was held in Calabar, drawing an unprecedented crowd NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

According to Faith Okon the Press Secretary to Rev. Otu, the program, which holds on a quarterly basis in the state, drew residents from the three(3) Senatorial districts across the State.

Speaking at the event, the Governor, Sen. (Prince) Bassey Otu represented by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon

Peter Odey indicated that the theme of the event, “greater glory” is timely for Cross River State.

“The theme for this edition is timely for us as a state because we have just been restored to our pride of place as one of the oil producing states in Nigeria.”

“We have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Afrexim bank, which would see us securing $3.5 million dollars for Bakassi deep sea port.”

“We have teaming investors coming into Cross River State, and I assure you that very soon, the glory of Cross River State will return in even greater folds in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Speaking at the event, Rev Otu represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious matters, Apostle Frank Umoh highlighted the theme and objective of the event.

“The last time we gathered together for our Solemn Assembly, we had the theme “Forgiveness,” and we forgave ourselves from the depths of our hearts. Therefore, it is natural that we enjoy Greater Glory from the Lord, hence the theme of today’s event.”

“It is my prayer that after today, everyone seated here would enjoy greater glory in all aspects of their lives, and as a state, we have gotten into an era of greater glory in Jesus name.”

The event saw an unprecedented crowd from all walks of life turn-out. It featured choir renditions, prayers, and the word.
