Calabar–Residents and commuters along the busy Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar were thrown into shock on Saturday morning following the discovery of a lifeless body near the NYSC Secretariat bus stop NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
The corpse, believed to be that of a middle-aged man, was spotted lying half-dressed on the grassy stretch by the roadside. Passersby gathered in disbelief, with many expressing concern over the development and lack of rapid response to such emergencies in the city.
“It is imperative that the relevant authorities take the necessary actions,” read a note shared alongside the photograph of the body that quickly circulated on local social media groups. The image has since stirred debates about public safety and the state of emergency response systems in Cross River state.

“We are worried that things like this can happen on such a major road and nobody comes immediately to remove the body. It is not only disrespectful to the dead but also unsafe for the living,” one concerned resident told reporters.
