Ukeme Anwan emerges P4P’s Akwa Ibom representative

Ukeme Archibong Anwan has been elected the Akwa Ibom State representative in the Central Working Committee of the Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

The election, conducted by the P4P CWC Electoral Committee in the state, was held on January 30, 2026, in Uyo.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the ELECO Chairman, Frederick Isu, and Secretary, Ernest Collins, the group said Anwan was the only candidate who met the stipulated criteria for the position.

The statement read in part, “All due procedures as stipulated in the election guidelines were strictly followed and all peace actors in the state were given equal and fairgrounds to contest for the position.

“Only one Peace Actor — Mr. Ukeme Archibong Anwan — emerged qualified for the position by meeting the stipulated criteria and was present for the elections.

“He was screened and cleared to contest. He was thereafter presented to the whole house during the general meeting held on 30th January 2026. The whole house voted unanimously for him; after which the chairman declared him elected.”

NEGROIDHAVEN learnt that the P4P is a key civil society network coordinating peacebuilding efforts across the nine states of the Niger Delta, with the CWC serving as its central decision-making body.

Anwan, a known peace advocate in the state, is expected to represent Akwa Ibom’s interests in regional peace programmes, policy development, and conflict resolution initiatives.
