The University of Cross River State has introduced 19 new academic programmes as part of its 2026/2027 admission exercise.
The new programmes are spread across the university’s Calabar and Okuku campuses, with courses covering architecture, engineering, physical sciences, computing and basic medical sciences.
The university made this known in its 2026/2027 First Choice Admission Screening Exercise notice issued by the Registry and signed by the Registrar, Dr (Mrs) Catherine Ndifon Osai.
According to the notice, the new programmes at the Calabar Campus include Architecture, Interior Architecture Design and Landscape Architecture under Architecture.

The university is also introducing Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Production and Material Engineering, Automotive Engineering and Water Resources Engineering.
Other new offerings at the Calabar Campus include Science Laboratory Technology and Artificial Intelligence Engineering.
At the Okuku Campus, the university listed new programmes in Basic Medical Science, including Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Community Health Science, Forensic Science, Radiography, Pharmacology and Nursing Science.
The institution said prospective candidates who made UNICROSS their first choice and scored 150 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination are eligible for the screening exercise.
It added that candidates who did not initially select UNICROSS as their first choice could change their institution to the university through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board website.
The university fixed the screening fee at N2,000, payable online through its application portal or through a commercial bank using the prescribed payment channels.

The institution further stated that candidates would not be required to appear physically for the screening exercise and would therefore not need to travel to Calabar or any other campus.
It, however, advised applicants to ascertain the campus where their preferred courses are domiciled before completing their registration.
The university said candidates are required to upload their O’Level results, JAMB result slip and recent passport photograph during the application process, while providing accurate telephone contact details.
The development expands the range of academic programmes available to prospective students seeking admission into UNICROSS for the 2026/2027 academic session, particularly in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, mechatronics and specialised engineering, as well as health-related disciplines.
