Reports reaching us at Negroidhaven has it that a three-year-old girl, Haliya Abolore, has died in the Gbagada area of Lagos State after she was allegedly coerced and forced to sit on a hot water container by her class teacher.  According to our correspondence, the culprit, identified only by her first name as Maryam did on wednesday,October 21st coerced the young girl into such gruesome act.

Corroborating the story was punch Metro who gathered that the little girl attended a private school located on Idoluwo Street, Dosunmu area in Lagos Island.

Our correspondence gathered that the little girl later sustained several burns in her buttocks and private parts, and was thereafter rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital by concerned Nigerians for treatment.

The incidence was reported to the area Police Division and they got Maryam arrested along with the school proprietress, Mrs. Bose Shomoade, who was also invited for questioning by the police, and made to pay parts of the treatment expenses.

All efforts made to save the young girls life proved abortive as she was repeatedly transferred to several other hospitals just to save her life until she later died at the Gbagada General Hospital exactly two weeks after after fighting so had to live from the excruciating pain.

Doctors confirmed that the burns were really sever and that it had affected her private parts seriously though she fought it had but could not as she later bid them farewell.

In the words of the deceased father:
“My wife is devastated. She has been taken to our family house in Kwara State. Haliya is our jewel. We are so sad to lose her.” He sobbs!

The case has been charged to court and has been labelled as child abuse and violence against children. We are pained by the loss of the innocent young girl as we pray that the family of the deceased receive the courage to bear this great and irreparable loss.

Our world is sick. We cannot but wonder the kind of heart some people seem to possess. This is no doubt another typical example of Mans inhumane treatment of his fellow Man. Let the wise and prudent take this to heart!
