The 2018 edition of The Bridge Leadership Foundation (TBLF) Career Day themed, 'Youths and Good Governance: The Future We Want' which held on Saturday 14 July at Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), Calabar, dominated talks in Africa's most populous country, Nigeria over the weekend NegroidHaven has confirmed. 
The 8th edition of the Career Day which aimed at providing a framework for how Nigerian youths can actively get involved in the demand and provision of good governance in a manner that ensures that the environment for youths to thrive is created, had, at the last count exactly 1, 782 tweets thereby making the 8th most popular Tweet in Nigeria. At a point, it's the fourth most trending tweet in Nigeria's social media space. 

Distinguished personalities and notable experts in good governance, citizen engagement, youth and enterprise development participated and led discussions that drove the 2018 Career Day Conference. 

The Day had guest appearance and speakers including Senator Liyel Imoke, Founder, The Bridge Leadership Foundation, and former governor of Cross River State; Mr. Tonye Patrick Cole, Group Managing Director, Sahara Group; Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; and Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, Founder RISE Networks. Other speakers included Mrs. Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri – Executive Director, Spaces for Change; Mr. Hamzat Lawal, Co-Founder/Chief Executive of Connected Development [CODE], Mr. Paul Nwulu, Program Officer, Power and Participation – Ford Foundation, Mr. Chris Ngwodo, Partner at Salem Advisory Services; Dr. Frankland Briyai – INEC REC, Cross River State, and Mrs. Tolulope Adeleru-Balogun, Radio | TV Host | Media Trainer/Consultant Broadcast expert.

The Career Day is an annual flagship programme of The Bridge Leadership Foundation. The 2018 edition served as one of many strategic steps by the Foundation in responding to the global clamor for youth involvement in politics and governance. It may interest you to know that the decision to focus on increased youth participation in politics and governance in an election season is a deliberate effort to ensure that conscious effort is made to enshrine equity, inclusiveness, participatory democracy and good governance in our polity. Above all, it has inspired Nigerian youths to take pro-active action in creating the future they want.
According to a source, yearly, through the Career Day, TBLF impacts the lives of more than 3,500 youths from Cross River State and across Nigeria. Since 2011, TBLF has successfully held 7 editions of the Career Day youth conference. For the 2018 Career Day, about 5,000 youths are expected to participate physically while hundreds of thousands will join the conversation online.
