Covid-19: Unical Branch of ASUU donates sanitizers to C/River State Gov’t

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Calabar branch, has donated 200 hundred litres of alcohol based hand sanitizers to the Cross River State Government for distribution to residents across the state.
Chairman of the Union, Comrade Dr John Edor, who led other members of ASUU to present the items, said the gesture from the union was to help the state in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Edor, who explained that the production of the sanitizers was solely sponsored by ASUU, commended the state government for the proactive steps taken in preventing the spread of the virus in the state.
He disclosed that the union had also sponsored radio jingles with a view to sensitise Crossriverians on simple health measures to adopt in other to stay safe and healthy.
Dr Betta Edu, the State Commissioner for Health, who received the items on behalf of the state government, lauded ASUU for their kind gesture, adding that the sanitizers would go a long way in helping to contain the spread of the virus in the state.
The donation was witnessed by the state Commissioner for Education and representatives from CRUTECH branch of  ASUU.
