According to some Nigerians who were seen to be reacting to the development, it is an irony for a state that has domesticated the Child’s Right Law to have kids of school age on the streets directing traffic.

The kids were seen at the popular Marian Road particularly at the Mekenge-Ibom Layout axis by Crunchies eatery where police warder usually stand to direct traffic.

The glaring absence of staff of the Department of Public Traffic, DoPT was noted as it was alleged that they were at other spots extorting Cross Riverians.

There are other concerns about the implication to criminality in the state capital metropolis.
