In fine tuning its preparedness ahead of the January 30th opening match of the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League season, Rovers Football Club Calabar will trade tackles with One Rocket Football Club of Akwa Ibom in a preseason friendly.

The encounter billed for Tuesday January 19, 2021, will take place at the main pitch of the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar by 3pm.

This is coming a week after Rovers FC Calabar walloped Diamond Stars FC in a 5-0 cracker that reinforces confidence in the team’s capacity to deliver on its mandate of securing promotion to the nation’s top-flight league.

Shortly after the game that took place at the U.J. Esuene Stadium Tuesday last week, Coach Samson Unuanel had said that from this week Rovers FC Calabar will be playing friendly games with teams in the NNL to further mould the players for the tasks ahead.

The match with FC One Rocket will be the first of such high level encounters before the 2021 season finally set in on January 30th.

Meanwhile, in the week one fixture released on Friday, Rovers FC Calabar will hit the road to meet Shootings Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan. The first away game with the Oluyole Warriors will be played at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.

Rovers FC is drawn in group B1, made up of Go Round FC, Akajobi FC, Stores FC, Giant Brillars FC and Nilayo FC. Others are; 3SC, Dynamite FC, Ekiti Utd FC, Delta Force FC, Vandrezzer FC and Nnewi Utd FC.
