After winning a pair of 2021 Indoor Track and Field Titles in the 60 meters and 200 meters, Cloud County track and field runner, Mercy Ntia-Obong has been named United States Track and Field Cross Country Athlete of the Week NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
Ntia-Obong finished a time of 7.31seconds in the 60-meters to become the best performer in the Cloud County and second-best performer in NJCAA history behind former Barton County star Veronica Campbell, who clocked 7.26 19 years ago.
Ntia-Obong won the final by 0.10 seconds at 7.40 and completed the sprint sweep with a 23.84 winner.
This is the second time this season that Ntia-Obong has been named National Athlete of the Week.
