C’River bags highest number of Awards from FG, World Bank as best State for overall outstanding performance

It rained awards for Cross River State as they swept awards in all categories at the close out ceremony of the Community and Social Development Program (CSDP) organized by the Federal Government and the World Bank.

The awards which were presented by the the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development by the Honorable minister, Sadiya Umar Farouk, includes 1st Position as the Best Performing State Agency with the highest number of poor communities supported by geopolitical zones (Southsouth); also, 1st position as State with the highest government contribution; then 1st Position as State with the highest number of completed micro projects (MPs); and 2nd Position as State Agency with the highest micro project in the Environment Sector.

The awards are a reflection of the State Government’s resolve unde Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade, to ensure the State residents enjoy the best of social welfare and improved livelihood.

On ground to receive the awards were Dr. Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for International Development and Cooperation; Hon. Stella Odey-Ekpo, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs; and Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, Commissioner for Finance. Others are Sir Toni Ikpeme, Chairman, CSDA Board; Mr Fidel Udie, General Manager, CSDA; Mr Justin Iduku, Chairman, CRS Renewable Energy Commission; and Rev. Victor Edet, Special Adviser, International Development and Investment.
