The Technical Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on New Media, Hon. Philip Obin has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate with the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Cross River State, Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr on this auspicious occasion of his birthday.

In statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Kelvin Obambon, and made available to some media houses on Wednesday, Obin expressed delight to be identified with Mr Ekpenyong, noting that he is one of Nigeria’s youngest Commissioners, who has carved a niche for himself in the political, corporate and academic world.

According to the Presidential Aide, Asuquo Ekpenyong’s prudent management of the Finance Ministry has enabled Cross River to receive inflows from States’ Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) grant and other aids, thereby complementing the meagre allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

He said the sterling performance of Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr as Commissioner reinforces the belief that the youth can do exceedingly well in leadership and governance and set the agenda for overall national development.

Obin also described the celebrant as a jolly good fellow who often reaches out to people irrespective of tribal, political and religious affiliations, and commit resources towards empowering them with lifelong skills that enable them to become useful to themselves, their families and the society at large.

He, therefore, asked the Almighty God to grant Mr Ekpenyong divine health, wisdom and the grace to achieve whatsoever he desires, while also wishing him a happy birthday.
