PDP cannot keep promise the reason why I defected to APC… Rt. Hon. Orok Duke

Former two terms Deputy Speaker and four terms member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, CRSHA has given justifications why he jettisoned the People’s Democratic Party, PDP during the week NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

Otuekong (Rt. Hon.) Orok Otu Duke, one of the newest members to be admitted to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on Thursday this week explained that his defection is inspired by the inability of the PDP to keep to her own promises.

Otuekong Duke further disclosed that Cross Riverians who of the state’s Southern Senatorial District extraction are keen about rotation of political power especially that of the office of Governor to the district.

Duke said, ‘Your Excellency, I was in a Party that couldn’t keep a promise. So, I went over to the promise keeper, and I am here today to hold on to the promise of His Excellency that we shall abide by all the rules and do what our people want.

‘They say, politics is local, we can only do what our people want. Our people want governor by 2023.

‘Your Excellency, what I saw in PDP, they deceived so much! So, I am here to tell,

‘I am here to tell you that whatever we want as far as it is what our people want, count me on. I have decided to become one of the chosen remnants that shall not bow down to Baal.’

Duke was received by His Excellency the governor, Ben Ayade, the entire APC state EXCO and party stakeholders.
