A political campaign group acutely keen about the realisation of the presidential aspiration of the incumbent governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has held consultation meeting in Cross River state capital NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
The Team APC Nigeria States Legislators for Governor Yahaya Bello to President Yahaya Bello (GYB2PYB) political campaign group on Monday held a geopolitical zone consultation meeting in Calabar.
The meeting which was a political consultation to the forthcoming national convention delegates of the All Progressives Congress, APC from Nigeria’s south south geopolitical zone was targeted at soaring support for the presidential ambition of Gov Bello of Kogi among the rank and file of the state legislators in the south south geopolitical zone.
The leader of the Team APC Nigeria States Legislators for GYB2PYB who is also the speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Prince) Matthew Kolawole, expressed gratitude to the contingents and sued for support for the eventual realisation of Bello’s presidential aspiration from his south south geopolitical zone houses of assembly colleagues and others present in respect of the forthcoming national convention billed for March.
His words, ‘Your Excellencies, Rt. Hon. Speakers, Distinguished colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer news that the youngest governor in Nigeria, HE, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is aspiring to be the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and this cannot be achieved without your unalloyed support and cooperation, hence the Team APC Nigeria States Legislators for GYB2PYB led by my humble self are in Calabar to ask for your total support as delegates and also woo others to join us in changing the narrative.
‘Distinguished colleagues, today we are here as political leaders of the legislative arm of our various states in this zone who are ready to be part of the generational shift that will help in reshaping the future of this country.
‘In line with our communique in Abuja, the south south geopolitical zone is now the first point of call having realised the importance of the zone in the political equation of the country to interact with other stakeholders and delegates who were not able to make it to Abuja and let them see reasons why we endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello to President Yahaya Bello project, 2023’, his speech read in part.
