Mercenaries, thugs, assassins, numbering over 250 to unleash horror in Akpabuyo Bye-Elections… PDP

The Caucus Leader of the People’s Democratic party PDP in Akpabuyo, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong has again raised the alarm over alleged plan by the Ruling All Progressives Congress APC to disrupt bye election in the area.

Sir Archibong in a statement on Friday to journalists alleged that thugs, mercenaries numbering over 250 have been contracted and lodged in some hotels in Ikot Asuquo, Ikot Offiong Ambai and other known areas in Akpabuyo.

His words :” The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), the IG of police, all security agencies and the world at large are by this publication put on notice as regards the uncouth and undemocratic plots of the APC, prior to the 26th February by-elections preparation.

  • “Mercenaries, thugs and assassin, numbering over 250, have been contracted by the APC and lodged in the APC SECRETARIAT at Ikot-Asuquo, EYUNE HOTEL by the Micro-Finance Bank, EDDIE HOTEL, Ikot Offiong Ambai and other areas known to the Akpabuyo community, pending the dawn of 26th of February to unleash horror on the people of Akpabuyo.

 

“It is also on notice that, INEC officials are lodging at a hotel close to their office which is owned by an APC chieftain, an attempt to compromise the electoral process.

 

“Let it be known that we have the relevant security agencies copied on this insidious plans of the APC and we are diligently following their activities, while warning them to desist from such alien and demonic plans.

 

“The PDP only wishes for a level playing ground to circumvent such horrific tales of bloodletting in our dear Local Government Area as none of this evil plots will cow us away from performing our civic duty of electing a leader for the good people of Akpabuyo.

 

“War never determines who is stronger but only who is left”, if the APC have an iota of love for Akpabuyo Local Government Area, then they would never tow such a destructive path,” he stated.

 

When contacted ,the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC , Erasmus Ekpang described the allegations by PDP as mere rumour adding that

 

There is no need for the tension there is nothing of such ,they are mere rumors , they are simply jittery , you will see everything for yourself tommorow, there won’t be any violence.

 

“If they know they are on ground ,lets meet in the field ,no need for the panic and tension ,if there candidate is popular the people we speak with their votes,” he said.
