REA Award Contracts for New 23 Solar Mini-grids in Cross River, Zamfara, 9 Others

The Rural Electrification Agency, REA, one of the agencies under the supervision of the Honourable Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy-Agba, OFR, has signed Interconnected Mini-grid Acceleration Scheme (IMAS) award grant agreement with eight (8) indigenous Solar developers for the installation of 23 solar mini-grids in eleven states of the federation.

Cross River, Zamfara, Niger, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Delta, and Anambra states have been selected to benefit from the scheme.

In Cross River, Abia, Agbokim, Etomi, Bendeghe communities in Etung local government area have been selected to benefit from the scheme.

The Cross River project is to be undertaken by Darway Coast Nigeria Limited, one of the eight indigenous companies selected to handle the programme.

All the eleven companies have received their contracts and grants award letters and are now awaiting the formal handing over of the equipments which is coming up in the next few days for commencement of installations.
