Focus Africa Leading Women: Dr Asibong makes list of 100 Leading Women in Africa

The Cross River State Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr Inyang Asibong, has been honoured alongside 99 others at the just-concluded 2-Day Focus Africa Leading Women Conference at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

The Focus Africa Leading Women Conference is an annual gathering of high profile delegates from 27 countries which harps on girl child protection and emerging women in Africa who are creating tremendous impacts to communities around them amongst other advocacy outings for the betterment of women inclusion.

Dr Asibong was specifically recognized for being at the forefront of advocating for safe places for women as well as other numerous contributions to nation building and helping the women break biases.

In addition, she is a leading expert in leveraging global-best practice, human capacity development by effectively utilising foreign partnerships and overall development of the state and supporting the economic cooperation between Cross River State and global organizations.

Receiving the prestigious recognition during the presentation, Dr Asibong extolled Cross River State Firstlady, Dr Linda Ayade whom she said has been spectacular in her contributions towards the girl child upliftment in the State.

The MIDC Boss also led a special Panel to discuss a Mentorship program for women which saw several attendees receiving orientation exercises.

The Event was attended by H.E, Mrs Umaru Tanko Al- Makura, H.E, Mrs Alayingi Sylva wife of Minister of State for Petroleum, Hajiya Dr Ajibike Saratu, National Coordinator 50 Million Women Speak Platform, Dr Mariam Animasaun GMD Oxford Holdings Ltd, Dr Mrs Chioma Nwosu, United Nations Girl Child Ambassador, Amb. Jibrin Muregi International Coordinator Focus Africa amongst other high profile dignitaries.
