PDP loses Daniel Asuquo, Dominic Aqua Edem to Labour Party in C/River

The opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Cross River has lost a former and incumbent lawmaker to the Labour Party, LP NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

Reliable report reaching our news desk strongly suggests that Dominic Aqua Edem Esq a former deputy speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly and member Representing Cross River State Board of Directors in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Daniel ‘Dansuki’ Asuquo a current member representing Biase/Akamkpa in the Federal House of Representatives has defected to the Labour Party, LP.

Asuquo is most likely to contest for the senate to represent Cross River South while Edem will vie to represent Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency.

According Lekam Ofem the State Publicity Secretary of LP in state ‘I was in the company of the State Chairman of Labour Party Ambassador Ogar Osim to present our Party card to him. Hon. Dominic is now a member of the Obi’s movement in the redemption of Nigeria… I just left the home of Honourable Daniel Asuquo. I can authoritatively inform you that, the distinguished Honourable is currently Obidient. He is actually one of the best Parliamentarians in Cross River State. I am proud of accompanying the State Chairman of Labour Party in receiving him into our Movement for a better Nigeria.’

Asuquo, who hails from Akamkpa in Cross River Southern Senatorial district, announced his defection to the Labour Party in a letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman of Akamkpa Urban Ward, Akamkpa LGA.

According to him, he will not be part of any platform that will not uphold the principles of zoning and rotation, according to him, he had consulted widely among his constituents before reaching the decision. Hon. Dominic was presented with the party card by the State Chairman of the Labour Party Ambassador Ogar Osim.
