Nsa, Akak, Ekpenyong Jnr solidarise with APC C’River guber candidate during ‘thank you tour’

Three former gubernatorial aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River have been seen to solidarise with the governorship candidate of their party, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, in respect of the forthcoming 2023 general elections NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

The trio of Nsa Ekpenyong, Ben Akak and Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr were cited by our correspondent at the Teachers Continuous Training Institute, TCTI Biase-venue of the Thank You Tour of Sen. Otu for the local government area after coasting to victory at APC Cross River guber primary election.

Their gesture of solidarising with Otu during the tour was commended by Sen. Victor Ndoma Egba SAN the former leader of the 6th Nigerian Senate. The erstwhile chair of the NDDC while eulogising their gesture said ‘Let me in a special way because of the special role I play in this event, recognise three very formidable, very young aspirants who also aspired for the ticket of the APC: Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, who today by the grace of God is the senatorial candidate for the Southern Senatorial District, Engr Ben Akak and Engr Nsa Ekpenyong; we are very happy that you are part of this tour, and we pray all others who are not yet part of this tour will become part of this movement in Jesus name.’

 

Biase, Akamkpa Traditional Rulers receive Otu

Meanwhile, Sen. Otu was heartifully received in Biase and Akamkpa LGAs by the traditional rulers as he commenced his Thank You Tour across the southern senatorial district of the state.

Paramount Ruler of Biase, Onun Apostle Nicholas Odum while receiving Otu expressed delight to receive the aspiring guber candidate of the APC in the following words. ‘I receive you as our incoming governor. We have seen your good handwork, if I were a politician I would say more, but as a traditional ruler, I will say less. Sen. Otu, the bible says when you give someone a task and he does it well, you have to give the person bigger task. When you were a senator, no one ever performed the way you did’, he said.

On his part, HRM, Ntufam Clement Ayuk, Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa LGA, said to Otu: ‘Some years ago, you came here seeking our support to help you get to the Senate and when you got into the senate, you did very well, the records are there… That is why we believe that you will be a good governor when you win next year. We are strongly behind you to succeed. We receive you and pray that you succeed come 2023’.

In response, Sen Otu expressed gratitude to the peoples of Biase and Akamkpa for the rousing, warmth, hospitality and show of love during his reception.

His words, ‘I’m here to thank you for your support and the role you played in my emergence during the Party primaries.

‘In Cross River State today, we need a man with experience, a man who can open doors locally and internationally, a man with overwhelming popularity and support across the the three senatorial district. You decided I was best suited to be your flagbearer and you made it happen.

‘The basis of my philosophy is service to humanity, I want to assure you that we will take our State to the next level.

Audience in Biase on Tuesday

‘To the delegates, thank you is not enough, you gave me your support even without any financial inducement. Your confidence in me is a debt I will repay by ensuring we bequeath a State of our dreams’, Otu concluded.

Recall that Sen. Otu had commenced a tour of the three Senatorial Districts in the state weeks after the primary elections of the party. Having toured the north and central senatorial districts, his campaign office scheduled this week. He will be in Bakassi and Akpabuyo LGAs.
