Grace Bassey the Honourable Councillor representing Ward 7 in Bakassi local government area has resigned her membership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

According to a letter which was sighted by our correspondent, signed by Bassey, dated 15th November 2022, titled ‘Notification of Resignation’, and addressed to the Ward 7 Chairman of PDP in Bakassi, the honourable councillor stated that she is dumping the opposition for three reasons stated as follows: that as a signatory to the back-to-south movement it was contradicting for her to still remain in a political party whose guber flag-bearer is from the Cross River Central, that Cross River South cannot wait for 32 years on end before she may have an indigenous occupant of the high office of governor, and for purposes of statewide peace and development.

Recall that on the 12th of September this year, Austine Ibok the Special Adviser on Amnesty to Gov Ben Ayade who is also of Ward 7 in Bakassi had resigned his membership of the APC. Ibok eventually defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
