P4P commences 6th AGM in Umuahia

A civil society organisation with thematic interest in peace building and conflict resolution in Nigeria, Wednesday, commenced the 6th edition of her annual general meeting (AGM) NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta (P4P) a CSO founded in 2013 with headquarters in Port Harcourt and visible interventions/projects littered across the nine states of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region has convened her AGM.

The 6th/2022 edition of the annual event is currently holding in Umuahia the Abia state capital metropolis. The event which is themed ‘End Ethnicity, Deepen Peace in the Niger Delta’ will hold between 16th and 17th of November at the A12 Hotels LTD.

The event is hosting at least 36 delegates from the 9 states of the Niger Delta region including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo and Rivers states.

In his welcome address the National Coordinator of P4P High Chief Pius Akomolafe charged the delegates of volunteers to ‘utilise the essence of why they are here today effectively.’ While welcoming them to Umuahia Akomolafe said ‘being a volunteer peace actor comes with various challenges… I urge you all to continue to deepen peace in our various communities especially during the electioneering period’. Continuing, Akomolafe observed ‘Let is Use this AGM in reminding ourselves why we became peace actors and the vital role we play in society. I urge you all to share experiences’.

According to the order of events cited by our correspondent, the line of activities includes keynote address, administrative overview, interactive session, plenary session, peace march, presentation of awards, and cultural performance etc.
