The Cross River Command of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nigerian Police has transferred to her the case file of suspected rapist, Austin Etim who was arrested for reportedly raping a 14 years old girl at General Hospital Calabar, GHC NEGROIDHAVEN has learnt.
According to Kebe Ikpi the Cross River coordinator for Child’s Right Network ‘investigations are still ongoing. Suspect is likely to appear in court this week.’ He also added that the girl in question ‘is stable. She’s getting all the medical help’.
Recall that a male nurse, Austin Etim who works with the General Hospital Calabar was arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a 14 year old girl inside the male ward of the hospital on Saturday.
The suspect who was arrested on Monday afternoon following reports by the hospital management and intervention of the ministry of health allegedly committed the said crime at the weekend.
Child’s father is still in comma. Sources say this development is a huge burden on the mother (of the 14 years old girl).
