A stand-up comedian whose name is Oku Charles Asuquo but goes by the stage name Charliebaz FC has disclosed that indigenous entertainers are barely supported by elites in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

In a social thread he made this week, Charliebaz FC observed that comedians who are not indigenous to and/or resident in Calabar are relatively supported than indigenous acts.

According to him, ‘If the kind of supports our leaders and most influential masters give to outsiders, they give even 30-50% of such to we the LOCAL ACTS, I’m very sure Calabar would’ve made more positive impacts than this…

‘It’s more painful when people from the outta world sees us here in CALABAR as people who have made it via supports from leaders and all but in real sense not really so…

‘27th of NOVEMBER, our legendary king in the COMEDY FIELD “GORDON’S THE BELISCONI” did his comedy show in CALABAR of which we all were in Attendance, it all went well and God showed up for him, BIG CONGRATS BOSS but truthfully speaking, I saw the numbers of homebased personalities who showed up, bought table tickets of 500K & 1MILLION that one of that personality had to add 50k to his 500k just to have a table of 500k created for him as there wasn’t 500k table available anymore as at the time he arrived..

‘We from home, we put our table tickets for the least 100/200k and it’s always so difficult for most of our bosses to purchase and support our crafts and yet we give good contents most times…

‘22nd of MAY, I had a flopped show all because of a little completion of bills over an event of 6Million+, I apologized and promised to put up another which I kept to it promise…

‘4th of DECEMBER, Last week Sunday, I did as promised, I did all the necessary means of publicity that any well meaning entertainer who believes in his craft could do just to put up a nice show & putting CALABAR ON THE MAP raising from {sponsored ads, radio jingles, rallies, giveaways Billboards & roadside banners…

‘We did so much publicity, we paid Guest ACTS, booked their flights, gave a good show but nothing to show forth after such great event #painful… Let’s just imagine the event didn’t hold or our guest Acts never showed up all because of what they’ve heard about our town & seen on social medias…

‘We went into different debts just because we were trying to put up a nice show for our town… The treatments on we the indigenous acts isn’t fair…

‘Some bosses will even go as far as telling you to call them at a certain point but when you do, they refuse to pick up (we be small pikin)

‘CALABAR is our home of birth, we were born, raised, trained and most of us our pure INDIGENS(I’M FROM ODUKPANI, GREEK TOWN in ADAK UKO village) a real son of the soil and we deserve all the love and supports from our home…

‘We’re not asking for too much, all we’re asking for is 30-50% of the kind of supports given to outsiders to we the indigens and see if we’ll not grow… CALABAR, WE REALLY DESERVE BETTER…’
