The leader of the Unified Universal Theocratic Council & head of administration of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has flayed world political leaders over their double speak commitment to maintaining world peace NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

Obu expressed his reservations recently during the fourth edition of the Leader Olumba Olumba Obu Annual Public Lecture which held on Thursday in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis.

During his address to the attendees and the general public, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu ably represented by the Spokesperson of the BCS, PCS Dr. Amah Williams observed that the commitment by world leaders to peace-building has been largely lips service.

While frowning at their doublespeak commitment, the spiritual leader encouraged world leaders to match words with action. According to him, ‘Over the years, peace-building and the one world agenda has not moved beyond talks to real actions. Superior nations understand global peace to mean the monopoly of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Their understanding of global peace and security is not the abandonment of destructive artilleries but amassing of tanks, anti-tanks, bombs, drones, missiles capable of traversing continents with the speed of light or even lesser.

‘They do not believe that countries could give up these deadly programmes and rather build friendship beyond their borders. To the extent of their insecurity and lack of trust for one another, the scientific exploration and technological advancement only get to the global recognition of unprecedented dimensions which such breakthrough further global attrition. This certainly cannot be the way forward.

‘In building the world we begin by building cellular units. This gathering therefore brings individual members of the public together for a deep, honest reflection and conversation about what we could do as a people. The commandments God gave us is to live in unity and harmony.

‘Global leaders must therefore move from talking to deliberately taking actions without meaning to maintain diplomatic gap against the common good.

‘We must put aside all divisive tendencies, unite together in one love and brotherhood of man under the universal fatherhood of God which has come to stay forever.’

Obu emphasised that military sophistication will not secure world peace neither the crass accumulation of wealth. For the spiritual leader, love devoid of a divisive mind remains the solution.

‘Let me also expose this fact to you, military might and advancement in technology and scientific achievements do not make any nation or human a superpower, the abundance of wealth and natural resources in any nation does not make that nation a superpower. Any nation or individual that wishes to be powerful must practice true love’, he concluded.

The theme of the academic event convened by the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS is tagged ‘Unification of the Human Race.
