We will return C/River to tourism capital of Nigeria… Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP in Nigeria has promised Cross Riverians a handful of things prominent among which is the return of Cross River as Nigeria’s tourism capital NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

This is part of Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s campaign promises to Nigerians resident and indigenous to the state in respect of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

While addressing the mammoth crowd at the U.J. Esuene Sports Stadium in Calabar the state capital metropolis Obi said he will revive TINAPA, the port, tourism and road infrastructure connecting the state and Akwa Ibom.

According to him, ‘in Cross River state, we have a port here, we will make TINAPA work, I assure you, we will make it work, TINAPA did not work because other government bodies who ought to have approved it, they didn’t do it, let nobody deceive you, you can’t travel from here to Uyo, it is unacceptable, we are going to fix it, Cross River state is the tourism capital of Nigeria, we will return it, we will make it work, let me assure you we want to renew Nigeria, don’t go and vote for people you don’t trust’.

Speaking earlier the former governor of Anambra noted that in respect of his national objective, he intends to unite the country and restore security of life and property: ‘I want you to take note of what I am saying – we will secure and unite Nigeria, we will ensure the rule of law, we will ensure that our Universities functions like a university, four years will be four years, no more incessant strike, we will ensure we turn Nigeria from consumptions to production’.

Obi did not highlight how he was going to do it and he did not give timelines to his objectives.

While in Calabar, Obi met with the traditional rulers council, students bodies and the organised labour.
