Cleric kidnapped in Bakassi, N3m ransom demanded

A kidnap incident has occurred in Bakassi LGA NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered from unofficial sources.

A middle-aged man identified as Mr Jacob Jones was kidnapped on Monday evening at Ikot Effiom (in Ward 7) of Bakassi local government area by unknown gunmen.

He was reportedly kidnapped at his residence between 8.30 and 9PM.

Jones who is a pastor of Church of Christ Nigeria is a husband and father of four kids. He has been reportedly sick of late.

Contact has been made to the family and the sum of three million Naira (N3m) has been demanded by the yet-to-be identified captors.

Recall that Mr Onyi Agbor the Young Progressives Party, YPP deputy guber candidate for the 2023 general elections in Cross River was kidnapped by Fulani militia on the 16th of March along the Odukpani-Akamkpa-Ugep High Way and released after the guber elections on Monday.

This was after the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Prof Gertrude Njar, was kidnapped in Calabar South and released on the International Women Day (IWD).
