Hon Patrick Uguge who allegedly raped a 19 year old is now in custody

Arrest has been made of a former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly CRSHA NEGROIDHAVEN can report

He reportedly raped his wife’s relative, who is a young girl living with them. Report suggests that the victim is traumatised and afraid because her alleged rapist is politically connected.

Meanwhile, Cross River Assembly Members are said to have swam the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID allegedly pressuring the Police to release their former member, Uguge, accused of raping his ward.

Basic Rights Council Initiative, BRCI is firmly on the case. The offender is expected to face the law, as it is hoped the victim will be protected.

While reacting to the development, Diana-Mary Nsan a socialite in Calabar said, ‘The abuse of one is the possible abuse of all. If you keep quiet over cases of abuse, your door step would not be safe from abusers.

‘Rt. honourable Paddy Uguge is in police custody, for allegedly raping a young girl living with him.

‘The law is clear on such offenses . Regardless of status , the law will take it’s course. Dear society, avoid rape. Flee from rape or any form of activity that abuses anyone for that matter.’
