As part of the events to mark the 35th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Calabar, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, General Martin Luther-Agwai Rtd, flagged off the Research Fair and Exhibition of the institution NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
While inspecting the exhibition of the research works carried out by scholars from the tertiary education institution, Luther-Agwai, a former Chief of Army Staff, on Tuesday was attracted to one of the books written by an emerging fearist, Michael Eneyo –Philosophy of Unity.
Other publications by philosopher Eneyo exhibited in this year’s convocation are, The Noble Chain, The Transhuman World and Its Fears and Ethics: Judging Morality Beyond the Limits of Man.
The exhibition was one of the giant strides the University of Calabar has made in recent times in the areas of research and intellectual development.
Recall that Pro-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, General Martin Luther-Agwai Rtd, had flagged off the Research Fair and Exhibition of the institution.
Luther-Agwai, a former Chief of Army Staff, lauded the VC for promoting research and quality teaching in the institution, stressing on the need for the university to partner with relevant corporate and government agencies to promote such exhibitions.
Meanwhile, according to official figures released on Monday by the school authority the tertiary education institution will convoke 7,769 graduates across the various classes of degrees and programmes offered by the university.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, out of the almost eight thousand graduates, 5,031 are bachelor degree graduates, while 2,153 are postgraduate degree graduates of the which 1,178 will be masters degree holders and 519 are doctor of philosophy graduates.
Convocation ceremony is ongoing with its climax billed for Saturday with the PhD’s convocation.
