Saturday 1st of April, 2023, was a day of multiple smiles as the faces of the street children in Calabar wore new looks.

The Val Orphanage and Educational Foundation, VOEF again made it to the streets of Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis to give hope and make kids smile with a touch of their foundational service, as food and educational materials were distributed to all the displaced kids roaming the streets, while a few others got educational sponsorship.

Speaking with one of the coordinators for the project, Mrs Obal Omini told newsmen about the deep-felt pathetic enthusiasm the foundation has for the street children.

In her words, “the street children were given birth to by their parents, yes life has happened to most of them, but that doesn’t mean they should be abandoned and neglected in our society. We need to embrace them to ourselves and give them hope for a better future.

“Today Val Orphanage and Educational Foundation decided to put smiles on the faces of the street children and also give them hope of returning to school.”

Highlights of the outreach were feeding the street children, donation of educational materials, and educational sponsorship.

The vision of Val Orphanage and Educational Foundation was birthed by Mrs. Valerie Osuake Omini, Nee Valerie Eyoma Asuquo a native of Adiabo Ikot Offiong, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River state in south southern Nigeria.
